One of my favorite art magazines today is High Fructose; and while looking through their site I found an amazing article.
This body of works by Rick Garret is called Symbiosis and features a series of altered photographs through the application of acrylic paint directly on the surface. To me it is amazing how intriguing these pieces are. At first sight I was very confused as to what was going on in the photograph and then I noticed the paint, subtlety placed on top of the bodies. Then I began to trace the motion of the two bodies to understand how they were positioned in space.
Just the fact that a single photograph can make me analyze all of this so unexpectedly, makes it a great work of art.
